Dr. Verioti devoted the majority of his early life pursuing his goal to becoming a surgeon. He played football and ran track in high school. After receiving a congressional appointment to attend The Air Force Academy and several offers to play college football, he decided to pursue his track career at the collegiate level. He attended Boston College and was a Division I 110m high hurdler and 400 IM hurdler. He received the athletic director’s award in 1999 for the highest scholastic GPA of all student athletes. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and went on attend medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He then completed an 18 month Orthopedic Surgery Research fellowship at the prestigious Scripps Institute under the direction of Clifford Colwell M.D and Darryl D’Lima MD., PHD in La, Jolla, California. He published many peer reviewed orthopedic studies which included cartilage regeneration and adult reconstruction clinical studies. He then attended residency training in orthopedic surgery at Michigan State University Flint and later graduated from PCOM in Philadelphia.
Dr. Verioti served as an assistant team physician for the Michigan Warriors hockey and Philadelphia Soul arena football league teams. He furthered his training under the direction of Dr. Scott Gillogly, MD, FAAOS in Sports Medicine and Cartilage restoration in Atlanta. Dr. Verioti gained a wealth of experience with biologic injection therapies including Platelet Rich Plasma, (PRP), Allograft Stem Cells, and Autograft Bone Marrow Aspirate therapies for various orthopedic applications including muscle injury, tendinopathies, and osteoarthritis. He was also an Associate Team Physician for the Atlanta Braves Baseball Club while serving his fellowship under Dr. Gillogly. Dr. Verioti then moved to California to begin his career and has served as the head team physician for multiple high school districts and community colleges in the areas he has provided orthopedic care. He currently enjoys volunteering to provide sideline coverage and orthopedic care for high school athletes. Dr. Verioti is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and has additional training in orthopedic Sports Medicine certified by The American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Verioti demonstrates expertise in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee as well as total and partial knee replacement surgery. His specific interests include ACL injuries, cartilage and meniscus tears, rotator cuff disease, and knee osteoarthritis.
Dr. Verioti is meticulous in his pursuit to providing patients with the highest quality of care and guided rehabilitation whether it involves nonoperative or operative treatment. When Dr. Verioti isn’t working, he enjoys skiing, cycling, weight lifting, running, fly fishing, and anything outdoors.
