With more than 25 years of surgical experience, Dr Nick H Gabriel has been internationally recognized for his skills with minimally invasive procedures

 

He is currently affiliated with Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister, CA and St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, CA.

Dr Gabriel founded the Nu U Institute to offer cosmetic and therapeutic injectables. His goal is to help you look and feel like your best self.

Dr. Gabriel is a highly skilled Laparoscopic Surgeon with over two decades of experience currently serving patients in Hollister, CA. He performs state of the art minimally invasive procedures for Gastroesophageal reflux disease, disorders of the stomach, small bowel and colon, gallbladder disease, hernias, and disease of the spleen, pancreas, appendix, adrenal glands, and kidneys, as well as other general surgical procedures including but not limited to biopsies, excisions or resections for tumors of the skin, body, and breasts. 

As a master laparoscopist, his signature laparoscopic techniques enable him to perform multiple organ procedures for chronic abdominal pain through as little as three 5mm incisions.

He is renowned as a Centers of Excellence Bariatric Surgeon and performs all weight loss procedures including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric plication, gastric bypass, and revisions.


Besides the aforementioned, he is noted for his facial artistry with injectable cosmetics and other aesthetic procedures. He has travelled around the world to provide the most advanced technology and products for facial rejuvenation, skin treatments and hair restoration. 


Dr. Gabriel graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at the Weill College Cornell University in Brooklyn followed by a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery at Yale University School of Medicine.  He joined the Yale faculty where he taught extensively and authored several publications. 


Board-certified in general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, he served as a Board member and Chair of the General Surgery discipline. As an educator, he has had past appointments as Director of General Surgery residency programs and has taught surgeons nationally and internationally. Other accolades include leadership surgical appointments at numerous institutions across New York and has appeared on CNN “Anderson Cooper 360”, the Discovery Health Channel, and ABC Eyewitness News. He was featured in Newsweek for his “first of its kind” laparoscopic procedures. 


His accomplishments have earned him to be a Fellow in both the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS). But most of all he was one of the first Osteopathic Surgeons to be bestowed the honor of Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (DFACOS).
